The Places That Shape the Journey

Thoughtfully

Access

Chosen

The most memorable journeys are shaped by thoughtful choices. Choices that prioritize authenticity over uniformity, stewardship over spectacle, experience over excess, and a genuine connection to place. From intimate owner-run camps and exclusive private retreats to adventurous fly camps in remote areas, every property we recommend has been carefully chosen to create meaningful experiences that connect travelers more deeply to the landscapes, wildlife, and cultures that make Africa extraordinary.

Luxury

with Purpose

The future of Africa’s wild places depends on the choices we make today. Many of the continent’s most extraordinary camps are built on a foundation of conservation, community partnership, and responsible tourism, proving that luxury and sustainability can coexist. From private conservancies that protect critical wildlife habitat to eco-conscious camps with a light footprint, these properties help safeguard the landscapes, wildlife, and cultures that make Africa so remarkable while delivering extraordinary experiences for travelers.

Location

Location, Location

Having intimate knowledge of the best locations so you don’t have to sacrifice the best light and action getting to and from your camp is key.

Connecting with

the Natural World

Where Tradition

Endures

Some of Africa’s most extraordinary camps remain deeply rooted in the traditions that first defined the safari experience. Family-owned, owner-hosted, and rich in character, these properties offer a level of authenticity, warmth, and personal hospitality that is increasingly rare. Rather than following a formula, each reflects the unique spirit of its landscape, creating an experience that feels distinctive, intimate, and deeply connected to place. For travelers seeking both exceptional luxury and a genuine sense of safari, these are the camps that continue to define the soul of Africa.

Expert

Guides

Our team are not only KPSGA silver rated, an elite level of the top 5% of guides in knowledge, they have worked with and been trained by some of the top wildlife photographers; Federico Veronesi, Johnathan Scott, Piper Mackay, Paul Goldstein, and Ben Fogle (filmmaker). They understand a few inches can be the difference between great light, great background, and a great photograph or a holiday snap shot.

Exclusivity

Redefined

The difference between a good photographic safari and an exceptional one is often found in the details. Drawing on more than two decades of experience photographing wildlife and tribal cultures across Africa, our founder has spent a lifetime refining the art of logistics.  Every journey is thoughtfully shaped around light, seasons, and the natural rhythm of a destination. When done well, logistics become invisible, allowing photographers to spend less time in transit and more time immersed in the moments, encounters, and extraordinary opportunities that define a truly memorable safari.

With Vast

Network

Our guides work in reserves and with other guides all across Kenya; they are not camp guides. Their network of information is vast. During migration season when everyone comes to the Mara, these relationships and flow of information are powerful.

Adventure Without Compromise

Vehicles and Game Drives

The greatest luxury is sometimes the absence of everything except what truly matters. Expedition fly camps allow travelers to reach remote corners of Africa where permanent camps cannot exist, immersing them in wild places far beyond the ordinary. Whether the camp moves with the journey or is established in a location chosen for a singular experience, these temporary camps combine adventure, exclusivity, and comfort in a way that transforms the wild itself into home.

Vehicles and Game Drives

Vehicles and Game Drives

Photographers designed our vehicles for photographers. They are open sided with built in beanbags covering the full shooting length, making positioning of your camera fast and easy. Our open roof gives quick access to stand and shoot to drop horizons or to shoot over tall foliage. We do not impose mileage restrictions or the length of games drives. You may stay out in the field all day and we will ensure take care of the details such as meals and cold drinks.
