Having the best access to wildlife grants you the best positioning for dynamic wildlife photographs. Less can be more. Being in the most popular locations during the high season (migration season) maybe exciting, but fighting for position may not produce the best results; off season produces stunning images!! Having off road access, a lower perspective, night game drives, wildlife hides, or aerial opportunities is what can take your photography to the next level and set you apart from the crowd!!
The finest wildlife destinations offer far more than abundant wildlife. They provide the freedom to experience it fully. Private conservancies allow photographers to leave the road, spend time with exceptional sightings, work from custom-designed photographic vehicles, explore on foot with expert guides, photograph from specialized hides, or take to the skies with some of Africa’s most experienced helicopter pilots. These are opportunities simply not available in most national parks.
Having intimate knowledge of the best locations so you don’t have to sacrifice the best light and action getting to and from your camp is key.
One can have the finest wildlife destinations, vehicles, and accommodations, but it is often the guide who determines whether an opportunity becomes an image. Our elite guide team has worked together for nearly a decade and has been trained by some of Africa’s leading wildlife and tribal photographers. They understand the importance of positioning for light, backgrounds, behavior, and composition, often making adjustments of only a few inches that can dramatically strengthen an image. Combined with their extensive knowledge of wildlife, conservation, culture, and hospitality, they create an experience that is as enriching as it is productive.
Our team are not only KPSGA silver rated, an elite level of the top 5% of guides in knowledge, they have worked with and been trained by some of the top wildlife photographers; Federico Veronesi, Johnathan Scott, Piper Mackay, Paul Goldstein, and Ben Fogle (filmmaker). They understand a few inches can be the difference between great light, great background, and a great photograph or a holiday snap shot.
The difference between a good photographic safari and an exceptional one is often found in the details. Drawing on more than two decades of experience photographing wildlife and tribal cultures across Africa, our founder has spent a lifetime refining the art of logistics. Every journey is thoughtfully shaped around light, seasons, and the natural rhythm of a destination. When done well, logistics become invisible, allowing photographers to spend less time in transit and more time immersed in the moments, encounters, and extraordinary opportunities that define a truly memorable safari.
Our guides work in reserves and with other guides all across Kenya; they are not camp guides. Their network of information is vast. During migration season when everyone comes to the Mara, these relationships and flow of information are powerful.
